This is an excellent opportunity for an intern to get real world hands on experience in the administration of one of the largest playwrights festival in the country. From reading plays and helping to choose the plays for selection; to working with the festival producers and staff to interacting with playwrights, actors, directors and audience, this internship offers a comprehensive tutorial on what it takes to create, manage and run an arts festival. For anyone interested in producing theater, this internship will give hands on experience at the professional level. This position will work 20-30 hours per week from June through September.
Meticulous attention to detail, great positive attitude, strong organizational and administrative skills (or interest), great phone and email etiquette, computer versed, ability to work under a deadline with grace and skill, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work evenings as well as days, ability to follow-through and be a team player. Some graphics and editing skills a plus. Intern will need to provide their own car for transportation to and from the workspace and performance venue. (Our theatre home is on Magnolia in North Hollywood)
