Description

The PR & Marketing Intern will assist with the communications, marketing, and social media aspect for the summer festival. The general scope of work will include assistance with the creation and implementation of press releases, marketing materials, website and social media updates. Primary duties of the intern will include assisting the associate director of communications for the organization, networking with community members and media representatives. Intern will also assist front of the house staff, coordinating and disseminating front of the house and marketing material. This position will work for 400 hours, a minimum of 15-20 hours a week from June through October. 

Qualifications

General understanding or interest in theatrical, music, or special event production. Interest in theatre or community events is strongly encouraged. Strong writing and communication skills, a must, positive attitude and positive team relations required.  Please be advised, as per our company's policy, employees, volunteers and interns that may come in contact with students and youths may be required to be fingerprinted. If selected, you will be required to be fingerprinted, at no expense to you. 

Background

Santa Clarita Shakespeare is a small professional theatre company in Northern Los Angeles County. Each summer the SCS produces a Summer Theatre Festival, with 3-5 productions and special events, including: a FREE SHAKESPEARE production, now in its 30th year as an event in the community; a reimagined classic play; a children's/family production. SCF partners with other theatre companies and nonprofits to create a community wide festival of theatre, music and events.
