The Artistic Intern will learn the major components of running a nationally-recognized dance company by working directly with the artistic staff. The Intern’s duties will consist of (1) advancing DIAVOLO’s summer arts education programs, (2) coordinating DIAVOLO’s summer rehearsal schedule, (3) managing DIAVOLO’s social media accounts, and (4) creating and designing content in order to reach the company’s target audience. The Intern will have the opportunity to interact with DIAVOLO’s professional staff, thereby gaining exposure to their diverse responsibilities and learning about the multitude of career options available in the performing arts. This position will work 40 hours a week for 10 consecutive weeks between the months of June and August 2021.
Pre-requisites include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), social media (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and Photoshop. Candidates should desire a position during normal business hours, usually 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional schedule adjustment for attendance at company events on evenings and weekends (digital or in-person), that will afford them access and exposure to all areas of arts administration. Desired applicant should have strong organization and communication skills. She/he/them should be a “self-starter” who is motivated, conscientious, dependable, and an adaptable team player with a genuine interest in the arts. Passion for dance is a plus. Excellent writing, editing and design skills are highly desirable.
