Exact hours can be determined based on the students’ availability and credit requirements. Women In Film is dedicated to working with our potential interns to find a schedule benefiting both parties.

Women In Film internships are entry-level positions that require a genuine interest in the screen industries and/or non-profit management. A strong candidate for this position will have a general understanding of the film and television industries, a passion for media and entertainment, willingness to learn and attention to detail. Required skills include: familiarity with social media platforms, Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Training on the specific software required of the position will be provided.

Background

Women In Film is a nonprofit organization that advocates for and advances the careers of women working in the screen industries—to achieve parity and transform culture. Founded in 1973, WIF supports women and people of marginalized genders in front of and behind the camera and across all levels of experience. We work to change culture through our distinguished pipeline programs; we advocate for gender parity through research, education, and media campaigns; and we build a community centered around these goals.  Our advocacy work includes research, media campaigns and a systemic change project, run with Sundance Institute, called ReFrame. The educational work is focused on growing the skill sets of women working in the art and craft of filmmaking and includes: an episodic writing lab and a feature film writing lab, a film financing and strategy intensive, a speakers series, a screening series and Q/A with filmmakers, and the WIF production program (formerly called WIF PSA).
