Description

The Road Theatre Company is seeking an intern to work as an Associate Producer to provide support for our 2022/2023 season and to specifically work with Under Construction 3. The selected intern will work directly with producers,managing director and creative teams. They will assist with auditions, contracts, scheduling of rehearsals and gathering artists information, working with directors and designers as well as assisting with the broadcast & organizing talkbacks. They should possess an interest in producing new works that deal with socially and/or politically relevant content for the stage .The intern will be working 15-20 hours per week from October 2022 through February 2023.This is an incredible opportunity for an intern to see the full process of theatrical productions to their completion. The interns work will contribute to many facets of our producing season.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be able to fulfill all responsibility and take initiative with professionalism. They must show great interest and enthusiasm for live theatre. They must possess good computer, written and verbal communication skills. They should be Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular), as well as Proficiency in Google Office Suite (Gmail, google sheets, drive, calendar, meet apps). They should have some familiarity with sets, lighting, costumes and props. Some knowledge of editing and graphics would be beneficial. Ideal candidates must be able to work in a collaborative environment and have interest in theatre production.

The award winning Road Theatre Company's mission is to produce, nurture and support new plays with our company of professional actors, directors, designers and playwrights at our theatre on Magnolia. The Road has consistently been named among the top ten of intimate theatres in Los Angeles and is a pioneer of the largest staged reading festival in the nation. One of the highlights of its season is the annual Summer Playwrights festival which is now going into its 13th season. Many of the plays from our festival go on to professional productions on our mainstage each season. Our organization is expanding and growing, and is attracting the works of many great talents along the way. With Under Construction, we are nurturing playwrights from all over the country. Giving them a home to develop their work.
