Description

In close collaboration with the Artistic and Administrative Directors and Marketing Consultant, the Marketing Intern’s primary project will be assisting with the marketing efforts for our upcoming production, “L.A. Real.”

The Marketing Intern will create a social media campaign and other related marketing materials for “L.A. Real”, as well as post and maintain the company social media pages. The Marketing Intern will also create social media posts and related marketing materials promoting our other projects, such as our Young Theaterworks arts education programs and the company’s Original Theaterworks Digital Collection, representing our 30+ year production history.

This is a part-time internship working an average of 15-20 hours/week from November through February. Work will be completed mostly remotely at the intern’s home office, with some portion of work completed on-site at our office in Old Town Pasadena.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be able to take direction and run with it. This requires enthusiasm, clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work well independently. They should have a passion for the performing arts in general, and a desire to learn about the LA arts and culture landscape. They should have good writing skills, be Macintosh proficient, have experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps. Experience with photo and/or video editing software and graphics programs are highly encouraged. Other assets include marketing and/or community outreach experience. Interest in Los Angeles history and familiarity with ensemble-based theater and/or theater by communities of color is very helpful. Preference will be given to those applicants with a serious interest in pursuing a career in the performing arts, arts education, arts administration, and/or marketing.
