PO Box 642118

Description

This position will work from July 5th through December 16th approximately 20 hours/week.  The hours are somewhat flexible and we will work with the intern to create a schedule that recognizes the intern's other responsibilities while meeting the requirement of 400 hours over the course of the internship. There is also some flexibility with the start date. The student who fills this position will have a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills while working in an arts organization that uses music to uplift people in low income communities. The student will learn how to design a study and then gather data and analyze results. The intern will also get an inside look at mounting a large concert. The coaches and mentors involved in this program are all artists whose experience ranges from scientific to making movies at Sony. The student will also have the opportunity to define their own professional development program that will include attending Board of Directors meetings and being supervised and mentored by highly skilled mentors and coaches.  This is an opportunity for someone interested in Music Education and Arts Management.

Qualifications

ACC will train and mentor the intern in their role creating and implementing a community needs study about children’s need for music in low income communities. The intern does not need to have relevant experience, but having an interest in providing music education to underprivileged children would be a plus.
