From the report: "One year from the sweeping changes initiated by the coronavirus pandemic and its transformative impacts on our lives, the Civic Art team is grateful to continue supporting artists who create meaningful artwork that reflects and engages LA’s diverse communities. Despite delays across many areas of the economy, our work has yet to slow down. In fact, during the 2020-2021 fiscal year, we nearly doubled the number of projects actively managed from the previous year, ranging from multi-artist, site-specific commissions at the County’s Restorative Care Villages to producing temporary and permanent artworks along the 13-mile Park to Playa Trail."
"More importantly, we doubled down on our commitment to reexamine our practices and introduce procedural changes to better promote access and inclusion in the attainment of resources for underrepresented artists in public art and allow greater participation in the artist selection process for community members…”
