Description

The Design and Communications Intern will play an important role in continuing the initiatives that are part of artworxLA’s Strategic Plan, which outlines strategies for strengthening and expanding fundraising, development, marketing, communications and deepening programming offerings. From developing the 2022-2023 Communications Calendar and Annual Report to designing and managing social media content, this intern will drive several communications projects that will help artworxLA position itself to more effectively communicate with donors and expand its programming capacity.  This position will work from August to December 2022 and is expected to work 20 hours each week. 

Qualifications

Preferred Skills: Interest in arts education/programming, and addressing the needs of underserved youth, Interest in marketing, public relations, content creation and documentation, Strong sense of professionalism and personal responsibility, Willingness to take initiative, ask questions and learn new skills, Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet deadlines , Strong writing, research, communication and critical-thinking skills, Possess or willing to learn a basic understanding of project management, and be comfortable working with a project team, Proficiency in Microsoft Word, and willing to learn Excel, Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), or strong desire to learn, Willingness to learn Salesforce CRM, Squarespace, Asana, social media and other relevant software

Our long-term, sequential arts programming offers students a pursuable life path that inspires them to stay in school, evolve as individuals, and flourish as mentally well-adjusted adults. Using the arts as a key engager, our goal is to prepare these students most at-risk of dropping out of high school, not only to graduate, but also gain tangible life skills needed to navigate the professional world.
