The Program and Membership Intern will play an essential role in planning and executing summer professional development programs and services for ACSO's members and preparing for the fall 2022 annual membership renewal campaign. The intern will successfully serve and support ACSO’s membership, which includes orchestras, festivals, choruses, businesses, and individuals. This position will work approximately 20 hours a week from June through October 2021.
We seek someone who is flexible enough to work on a small team where everyone wears multiple hats, who is curious and excited to learn new things, and who asks great questions, and who isn’t afraid to bring new ideas to the table. Because the intern could be working remotely several days a week, we seek someone who is self-sufficient and self-motivated, and can work independently but knows when to ask for help or input. The intern must possess excellent customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, strong research skills, strong organizational and project management abilities, and is obsessive in their attention to detail. They must be experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to learn new software programs and databases. An interest in classical music is a plus.
As the collective force for orchestras in California and the western United States, The Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO) is the voice, forum, and network for 120 orchestras and their 2,000-member workforce. Our vision is that, with the support of ACSO, the classical music landscape of California and the region is vibrant, healthy, diverse, and connected to the communities it serves. ACSO is the preeminent leader connecting and advocating for its members. It is the only service organization in the state exclusively focused on training and providing resources and support for board members, staff, and artistic staff of symphony orchestras, youth orchestras, festivals, choruses, and volunteer groups.
To apply, please email resume, cover letter, and the contact information for two references to office@acso.org and put "LACDAC Intern" in the subject line.
