CLA is seeking an enthusiastic Education, Outreach & Special Projects intern in Los Angeles to work at least 15-20 hours per week from September 2022 through January 2023. The intern will assist with planning upcoming art/law education programs and special events, actively participate in fundraising activities and help our team devise and implement new outreach initiatives – growing CLA’s presence in South California. The intern will assist in developing marketing and social media strategies as well as devising grassroots outreach efforts – contacting local arts organizations and helping us build and maintain relationships with our membership base in the Los Angeles area. The intern may help develop and produce content for the weekly digital newsletter and for our social media accounts. The intern may also work on special projects involving advocacy efforts and/or unique research projects involving legal and business issues affecting the arts community.
The ideal candidate will bring a start-up energy to our office – being flexible with their tasks, capable of independently finding new projects, and showing initiative and creative thinking. Applicants do not need legal or law school experience – only a sincere interest in the arts, legal services, and our mission. Must be pro-active, self-directed, detail-oriented and organized. Must possess strong inter-personal skills and excellent phone skills, as well as the capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The position requires excellent verbal and written skills.
