The intern will act as a co-director to the lead instructor for the four week session of our “CTG Stars” Summer Musical theatre workshop. Duties will include assisting with acting instruction, directing, costume development, technical production, and theatre exercises. Additionally, the intern will assist the Box Office Manager and staff where they will assist with customer service, ticketing and reservation skills, updating attendance records clerical duties and rudimentary budget details. Both sections of internship duties will be overseen by our Youth Programs Administrator who will be the “CTG Stars” Lead Instructor as well as the Box Office Manager and will meet weekly with the Intern. This position will work approximately 40 hours a week from June through September.
Ideally, the applicant will be enthusiastic, energetic, dependable, and self-motivated. The intern must have leadership qualities, good communication and organizational skills, and be a team player. The intern must also enjoy working with young children and the general public. The intern ideally should be able to sing on key and have some experience in live theatre productions and improvisational exercises. Music training is a plus. A basic understanding of theatre tech is useful. Good understanding of customer service is useful as a part of each day will involve telephone and face-to-face interaction with theatre patrons and workshop parents. Also useful: basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must have own car. Applicant will need to be fingerprinted.
