The Public Arts Intern will provide programmatic and marketing support to the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission’s initiatives including but not limited to: the Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station Exhibits, Art Happens Anywhere (AHA) Program, Beyond the Box – Utility Box Program, Brand Library Plaza Series and 222 East Concert Series. This position will work approximately 20-30 hours a week from October 2022 – February 2023.
The Public Arts Intern will have a strong knowledge of: - Exceptional customer service practices - Exceptional written and verbal skills - Standard office procedures - Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel) - Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop) **highly desirable, but not required - Attention to detail The Public Arts Intern must also have an interest in: - Government sponsored arts initiatives - Marketing and communications - Arts and culture field (ex. performing arts, exhibitions, installations, etc.)
The mission of the Glendale Arts and Culture Commission (ACC) is to reinforce Glendale’s identity and civic pride through arts and culture. The ACC (with administrative oversight by the Glendale Library, Arts & Culture department), consciously integrates arts and culture into the daily life of Glendale through initiatives such as Art Happens Anywhere (AHA), Adams Square Mini Park Gas Station Exhibits, Beyond the Box – Utility Box Program, 222 East Concerts and the Brand Library Plaza Series.
