Description

The Administrative and Program Intern will perform a diverse array of tasks to assist an activist dance theater company in successfully managing general operations and assisting with our yearly Futuro Summer Dance Intensive in August,. This position will work approximately 15-30 hours per week from June through February and in a hybrid work environment, with both on site and remote work.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a sincere and demonstrated interest in work at the intersection of arts and social justice—specifically within an anti-racism context; and a commitment to engaging in an organizational culture that calls on people to be their fullest, most compassionate selves. An interest in performing arts and arts education is also highly desirable.

The candidate should also have experience in the following:
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures i.e G Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Photoshop, Canva
- Knowledge of social media i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Vimeo
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitasking and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills

CONTRA-­TIEMPO is a multilingual LA ­based activist dance theater company creating courageous work both on and off stage. We engage diverse audiences, cultivate dancer leaders, and center our community’s stories using our engagement process to inform and continuously re-fuel our creative process and vice versa. We create a new physical, visual and sonic vocabulary that collages our Afro-Latinx ancestral movement lineages with theater, text, and original music to bring to life dynamic multi­modal performance experiences.
