The Department of Arts and Culture subsidizes trainings, certificate programs and conference registration for staff and board members of its OGP, AIP and CIAG grantee organizations. Eligibility requirements vary for grantees of each program. Please read details carefully before applying.

Please make note of the following:

  • The County's fiscal year runs July 1 - June 30. Please refer to your grant programs Exhibit B for a review of your current grant cycle timeline: OGP, AIP, and CIAG.
  • Grantee organizations are limited to participating in 5 scholarship opportunities per fiscal year. Sending 3 individuals to the same class counts as 3 of 5, so be tactical in how you use these opportunities.
  • Municipal grantees are not eligible for nonprofit training opportunities.
  • Your organization must be a current grantee in good standing in order to participate in the scholarship program.
  • Advance application is required at least two weeks prior to multi-day certificate programs, and one month before conferences.

OGP

All current OGP grantee staff, board members or artists affiliated with the organization are eligible to participate with the following provisions:

  1. Organizations with budgets less than $5,000,000 may request scholarships for any members of their staff or board.
  2. Organizations with budgets between $5,000,000 and $15,000,000 should reserve scholarship opportunities for mid-career and emerging leaders on their staff or artistic ranks.
  3. Organizations with budgets over $15,000,000 should reserve scholarship opportunities for emerging level staff.

AIP

All current AIP grantee staff, board members or artists affiliated with the internship are eligible to participate with the following provisions:

CIAG

All current CIAG grantee staff, board members or artists working directly on the grant funded arts project are eligible to participate with the following provisions:

  1. Organizations with budgets less than $5,000,000 may request scholarships for any members of their staff or board working on the grant funded arts project.
  2. Organizations with budgets between $5,000,000 and $15,000,000 should reserve scholarship opportunities for mid-career and emerging leaders on their staff or artistic ranks working on the grant funded arts project.
  3. Organizations with budgets over $15,000,000 should reserve scholarship opportunities for emerging level staff working on the grant funded arts project.

All half- and full-day workshop classes at the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) and The Nonprofit Partnership (TNP) are available to eligible grantees free of charge with a limit of five classes per grant year as described above. Advance registration is required. Multi-day certificate programs at CNM and TNP are also available to grantees free of charge and covered at 100% of the full registration.

New: Eligible grantees can register for half- and full-day classes, certificate programs and conferences of their choice directly on the CNM and TNP websites. Each provider will then direct you to complete the scholarship form when it's applicable to the program you've requested to enroll in.

Eligible grantee organizations are eligible for up to five half- and full-day courses at CNM and TNP per fiscal year, which runs from July - June.

Please Note: Registering for a class but failing to attend that class will require payment in full for that class to either CNM or TNP.

Eligible individuals from grantee organizations may apply for a full (100%) scholarship with a cap of up to $600 to attend conferences and trainings of their choice. Scholarships may not be applied toward travel or housing costs.

Those eligible to participate must meet the following provisions:

Advance application is required at least two weeks prior to multi-day certificate programs, and one month before conferences.

Eligible grantees must pay full tuition up front. You will receive the reimbursement payment from the Department of Arts and Culture upon submission of 1) a brief survey, 2) evidence of completing the conference/training, 3) an invoice from the provider detailing the cost of enrollment. Evidence of completion and the invoice should be emailed to the grants team at PD@arts.lacounty.gov
