ICT recognizes the importance of cultivating the next generation of performing arts leaders and is looking for a summer intern who wants to learn about nonprofit professional theater management. This is an opportunity to touch all aspects of nonprofit performing arts administration - marketing, fundraising, outreach, and administrative functions. We are seeking an energetic, organized, and dependable person to join our small but mighty team. Successful candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills (graphic design skills a plus), be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and have a great attitude. This is an ideal opportunity for someone ready to learn, cultivate new skills, and work collaboratively. This position will work either 40 hours a week for 10 weeks or 20 hours a week for 20 weeks between May and September 2022.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research and synthesize information.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Working knowledge of file sharing platforms such as Google Drive or Dropbox.
  • A sense of humor and a professional demeanor.
  • Graphic design skills and experience with WordPress are a plus.
Background

International City Theatre (ICT) entertains, educates, inspires and provokes thoughtful dialogue through live theatre. Founded in 1985 at Long Beach City College, ICT began performing at the downtown Long Beach Performing Arts Center in 1996. It was designated the City’s official resident professional theatre company in 1999 and has received over 400 awards for professional excellence by organizations including the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle. ICT is committed to presenting high quality productions and education programs to its diverse community. ICT’s repertory includes classics, musicals, new works and social commentary and its six education programs have something to offer everyone from the age of 4 to 104.
