Description

The Marketing & Administration Intern will be an important member of Inveritgo’s small, lively team. The Intern will gain a breadth of experience through a range of roles and responsibilities, gaining insight and perspectives in running a dance company. As part of Invertigo’s marketing and artistic production team, the Intern will plan, research, coordinate, and produce various aspects of maintaining and developing Invertigo’s marketing, development, and fundraising for its professional productions. Most of the intern’s work will be between 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday, at the Invertigo office or remotely, depending on health and safety protocols at the time. Occasionally, Invertigo may ask the intern to help with evening or weekend events. This position will work 15-20 hours per week June through November.

Qualifications

The ideal intern will be community-minded, an excellent communicator and have an open, positive framework for working with a diverse range of people. Desired qualifications include: interest or background in dance, performing arts, creative production, public engagement, community-building, marketing and outreach, media and filmmaking skills. The Intern will be able to take directions on projects and develop ideas and content independently. This requires enthusiasm, clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work with clear focus and an attention to detail and the big picture. Often the intern will work with other team members of the organization and this will require a collaborative, thoughtful and professional approach. This project will require creative problem solving, artistic thought, organizational thinking, solution-building and the ability to quickly learn or figure out a variety of creative strategies, marketing approaches and technology platforms.

In addition to making performances culturally and financially accessible, Invertigo’s Dancing Through Parkinson's and Invert/ED community programs offer classes and workshops to dancers of all ages and abilities.
