Description

KCRW is looking for an organized, hardworking, creative, and passionate intern to join our Music department in Summer 2022, from June to August. The Music Intern will work with the Program Director of Music for approximately 40 hours/week to support the department through the screening of music submissions, communicating with artists, and writing analyses of new artists for our DJ staff. This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the music industry and public radio operations at one of the country’s most well-known stations. While we plan for this internship to take place in-person at our Media Center in Santa Monica, safety is a top priority for our organization and the internship may become a remote opportunity depending on regulations regarding COVID-19.

Qualifications
  • An understanding of music file formats and content management systems preferred
  • Broad knowledge of music history and current trends
  • Understanding of social media platforms
  • Passion for discovering new music
