About
Scambooty is an upbeat vocal band that weaves jazz, swing, folk, blues, jump, country, and the Great American Songbook into tight three-part vocals. Their arrangements span hits from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, as well as songs influenced by American roots music. Scambooty’s wide range of musical styles varies from the early swing of the Boswell Sisters to Cab Calloway, the jazz of Dan Hicks, and the Texas swing of Lyle Lovett. Other influences include Fats Domino, Sister Wynona Carr, Duke Ellington, Wynonie Harris, John Prine, and Ry Cooder. But always, Scambooty’s focus is on keeping things lively, fun, and (of course) swingin’!
