This Event Planning/Administrative Internship position will give the intern the opportunity to gain exposure and skillsets in various aspects of non-profit management, programming, and production. The intern will have the opportunity to interface with staff in areas such as event planning, administration, marketing, production, development, and education. Presently, this is a remote position (when safe to do so, the intern may return to the office to work) working approximately 15-25 hours a week from July through March.

Qualifications

The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival is seeking a mature, motivated, flexible, self- starter and problem solver, with a passion for LAWTF's mission. Applicants must be organized, have strong computer, verbal, and written skills, and a desire to learn new skill sets. Candidates must possess the ability to work as a team player and to work independently with necessary supervision, as well as be able to multi-task and work under pressure, meet deadlines and pay close attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred applicants have a background in theatre and a working computer knowledge of Word, Excel, and other basic software programs. Knowledge of Constant Contact and social media platforms is a real plus.

Background

The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival (LAWTF) is a non-profit arts organization that was founded in 1993. LAWTF holds the distinction of being the oldest and most respected solo festival for women in Los Angeles. To date, LAWTF has produced well over 600 solo artists from around the globe including those from South Africa, India, Australia, France, the Netherlands, England, Russia, Brazil, and Canada. Since 1995, LAWTF has also bestowed over 100 Annual Theatre Awards to deserving women who have made laudable and lasting contributions to theatre. LAWTF's outreach programs have served over 3000 youth (including at-risk youth) in the Los Angeles public schools, seniors, ex-offender women, and low-income populations.
