The Marketing and Communications Intern will play an important role in organizing, planning, and executing digital and social content that promotes MUSE/IQUE’s season of live events throughout the 2022 calendar year, in 2022 titled "LA Composed," a season-long exploration of the musical legacy of Los Angeles. The intern will collaborate with the EVP, Development and Communications and the Marketing and Communications Manager to create compelling social media campaigns, as well as other forms of media: creating posts to tell stories before and during live events to create interest and excitement, organizing marketing materials, aiding in editorial calendar management, crafting copy for different and diverse audiences and platforms, fielding marketing material inquiries etc. This media also supports community outreach that promotes free access to MUSE/IQUE’s live events for underserved populations, ensuring that everyone can have access to transformative live music experiences. The position will work 20-25 hrs/wk week June through November.
MUSE/IQUE is seeking a reliable, self-starting intern with honesty, integrity, and curiosity. Successful candidates must have good critical thinking skills and pay great attention to detail, have a deep desire to learn and a strong sense of initiative, work well under pressure, and are independent problem-solvers who can work with multiple priorities as a part of a team under tight deadlines. The intern must have strong written skills, as well as strong organizational and project management skills. Computer literacy and basic social media literacy is required (including Microsoft Office, Zoom, GDrive, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube). No prior knowledge of email marketing and event management platforms is required, but strong candidates will want to receive training in this area. The intern must be available to work some evening and weekend hours and must have a reliable form of transportation and current driver’s license. Business parking and mileage will be reimbursed.
