Angels Gate Cultural Center's Development Intern will work to understand the purpose of, how to support and enhance the organization's fundraising portfolio. The intern will assist with the marketing and logistics for the gallery and arts programming, fundraising efforts, and will provide support for on-going development activities including prospect research and grant writing support. The development intern will participate in shared daily administrative activities, and will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about arts organizations operations, gallery education, program promotion, public relations, marketing, and arts education advocacy. This is a part-time, paid, 12-week internship, flexible dependent on the intern’s availability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
An enthusiasm for the arts, arts education, and a passion for bringing high quality arts programming to an underserved area
Interest in the nonprofit sector, fund development and building marketing and fundraising campaigns
Major in art, arts education, museum studies and/or art history preferred
Familiarity with Mac computers
Knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Word
A familiarity with photo editing software preferred
Knowledge of social media tools

Reliable form of transportation is required, as the Angels Gate Cultural Center is not easily accessible via public transportation
Please note: Since the Angels Gate Cultural Center is a former military base and historic site accessibility in some areas is a challenge
Angels Gate Cultural Center is a medium-sized, community-based interdisciplinary arts center that provides free and affordable access to the arts in the largely low-to-moderate income working-class communities of the San Pedro and Los Angeles Harbor Region. AGCC strives to provide the Southern California community with a year-round schedule of gallery exhibitions and community classes. In addition, the Center provides professional work-studio space for 52 artists, including musicians, ceramists, painters, sculptors, writers, photographers, printmakers and jewelers.
