Fausto Fernandez

About

Fausto Fernandez collages painting and instructional materials to construct new narratives that question ideas of society and human relationships. Maps, sewing patterns, mechanical renderings and architectural plans are metaphors of these relationships and attempt to map an individual’s relationship to their community.

Fernandez has a BFA in Painting and Graphic Design from the University of Texas at El Paso. He received the Erni Cabat Award from the Tucson Museum of Art 2011 Biennial and the 2013 Job of the Year by the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association for the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Sky Train Station Platform project. His work is exhibited in museums and private collections locally and throughout the southwest region.
