About the Artwork:

Monteith Park is a small recreation park located in the unincorporated community of View Park in south Los Angeles. Neighborhood residents expressed a desire to enhance activity in the park with programming to promote positive family use. As a welcome to spring, street artist Wild Life continued his series of whimsical, public space interventions at Monteith Park. The goal of the temporary project was to model low cost, high impact, open space art happenings that spark imagination and encourage community activity at the park. This artwork is no longer on view. The duck has been a recurring character in Wild Life’s work, having made surprise appearances in art galleries, the streets of downtown Los Angeles and the Los Angeles River. A mother duck and her three ducklings made Monteith Park their home until May 1, 2014.
