About the Artwork:

Dandelion Shipwreck is an ode to the imagination and sentiment of being an Angeleno- many people who find themselves in Los Angeles are on a journey, and this painting is meant to speak to that adventure. The artist states that the composition of the Los Angeles horizon recalls the Romantic tradition of painting, and the shipwreck title refers to the Caspar David Friedrich painting, The Sea of Ice.

About the Artist:

Anne-Elizabeth Sobieski lives and works in the Los Angeles area. Sobieski's work explores stories of interconnection, abundance and loss, accepting the inevitability that life will both delight and challenge us.
