Description

Culture Shock LA is seeking a dynamic individual and creative thinker to work with our leadership team to advance our program and operational capacities. The intern will support our education and outreach activities, and have a voice in developing our programs and community engagement strategies. Responsibilities will include preparing curriculum and lesson planning materials for teaching artists, measuring the impact of the organization's initiatives through the collection and analysis of evaluation data, and creating relevant program materials. The intern will also help devise and execute strategies focused on branding and community engagement and cultivate connections with potential community/program partners. This position will work approximately 20 hours a week from July through January.  
 

Qualifications

Desired skills: - Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills - Excellent writing skills - Outgoing and creative thinker - Self-starter able to work effectively both independently and with a team - Comfortable using a variety of social media platforms - Proficiency in internet-based research and use of Microsoft Office Suite - Flexible and able to multi-task - Knowledge of graphic design software is a plus
 

Background

Culture Shock Los Angeles is a nonprofit dance and arts education organization utilizing Hip Hop dance and culture to cultivate meaningful education, enrichment and engagement programs that inspire positive change in the communities we serve. The organization strives to highlight the positive attributes of the Hip Hop culture by teaching leadership skills, a positive work ethic, teamwork, and self-respect alongside training in performing arts fundamentals. The group is guided by the motto, "We are a troupe of individuals who, through the power of music and dance, cultivate self-worth, dignity, and respect for all people."
