Description

The Development and Finance Intern will learn the fundamentals of fundraising, finance and operations in a mid-sized world-renowned movement dance company. Duties will include: (1) coordinating individual giving initiatives (direct mail, online, events), (2) supporting finance-related activities (payroll, budgets, cash flow), and (3) draft grant applications and reports. The Intern will have the opportunity to interact with DIAVOLO’s professional staff, thereby gaining exposure to their diverse responsibilities and learning about the multitude of career options available in the performing arts. This position will work 20-30 hours a week for 13-18 consecutive weeks between the months of September 2024 and January 2025.
 

Qualifications

Pre-requisites include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Candidates should desire a position during normal business hours, usually 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional schedule adjustment for attendance at company events, on evenings and weekends, that will afford them access and exposure to all areas of arts administration.  Desired applicant should have strong organization and communication skills. The individual should be a “self-starter” who is motivated, conscientious, dependable, and an adaptable team player with a genuine interest in the arts. Passion for dance is a plus. Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills are highly desirable.
