The Department of Arts and Culture subsidizes trainings, certificate programs and conference registration for staff and board members of its OGP, AIP and CIAG grantee organizations. Eligibility requirements vary for grantees of each program. Please read details carefully before applying.
Please make note of the following:
- The County's fiscal year runs July 1 - June 30. Please refer to your grant programs Exhibit B for a review of your current grant cycle timeline: OGP, AIP, and CIAG.
- Grantee organizations are limited to participating in 5 scholarship opportunities per fiscal year. Sending 3 individuals to the same class counts as 3 of 5, so be tactical in how you use these opportunities. Grantee organizations are additionally allotted 5 registrations at TNP.
- Municipal grantees are not eligible for nonprofit training opportunities.
- Your organization must be a current grantee in good standing in order to participate in the scholarship program.
- Advance application is required at least two weeks prior to multi-day certificate programs, and one month before conferences.
OGP
- Current staff, board members, or artists affiliated with an organization that is currently funded by the Organizational Grant Program are eligible to apply.
- Organizations with budgets over $15,000,000 should reserve scholarship opportunities for emerging level staff.
AIP
- Current staff, board members, or artists associated with the AIP funded internship are eligible to apply.
- Organizations with budgets over $15,000,000 should reserve scholarship opportunities for emerging level staff.
CIAG

- Organizations with budgets over $15,000,000 should reserve scholarship opportunities for emerging level staff working on the grant funded arts project.
TNP BASED OPPORTUNITIES - How Do I Sign Up?
All half- and full-day workshops, in addition to multi-day certificate programs at The Nonprofit Partnership (TNP) are available to eligible grantees free of charge with a limit of five classes per organization per grant year as described above. Advance registration is required.
New: Eligible grantees can register for half- and full-day classes, certificate programs and conferences of their choice directly on the TNP website. TNP will then direct you to complete the scholarship form when it's applicable to the program you've requested to enroll in.
Please Note: Registering for a class but failing to attend that class will require payment in full for that class to TNP.
What About Scholarships For Other Trainings?
Eligible individuals from grantee organizations may apply for a full (100%) scholarship with a cap of up to $750 to attend conferences and trainings of their choice. Scholarships may not be applied toward travel or housing costs.
Those eligible to participate must meet the following provisions:
Advance application is required at least two weeks prior to certificate programs, and one month before conferences.
Eligible grantees must pay full tuition up front. You will receive the reimbursement payment from the Department of Arts and Culture upon submission of 1) a brief survey, 2) evidence of completing the conference/training, 3) an invoice from the provider detailing the cost of enrollment, and 4) an invoice from your organization to the Department of Arts and Culture. These materials should be emailed to the grants team at PD@arts.lacounty.gov
